A day retreat with Ajahn Karuniko

Sunday 22nd September 2019
The Pavilion Portswood Residents’ Gardens Abbotts Way, Southampton, SO17 1QU

If you are interested in attending, then please book your place by emailing us at hbs-day-retreats@gmx.co.uk

The Hampshire Buddhist Society warmly welcomes you to a day retreat led by Ajahn Karuniko, the Abbot of Chithurst Buddhist Monastery. The purpose of the day is to become better acquainted with key aspects of the Buddha’s teaching through the practice of meditation. The day will be suitable for newcomers as well as established meditators.

The venue for the retreat is the Pavilion – ‘a rare example of Edwardian garden architecture’ – in the Portswood Residents’ Gardens off Abbotts Way in Southampton.

Please arrive at 9.30am so that the retreat can formally start at 10am. We ask that you stay for the whole day until the retreat ends at 4.30pm.

The day will consist of dhamma teaching from Ajahn Karuniko, sitting & walking meditation and also an opportunity to ask questions.

Please bring your contribution to a ‘pot-luck’ vegetarian shared lunch. Tea, coffee and water will be provided. Chairs will be available, but you might like to bring your own meditation cushion.

There is no fixed charge for this retreat, but there will be a bowl available for contributions towards the cost of the day, including a gift to Chithurst Buddhist monastery.
